J.C. Rojas, MD, MS, Associate Chief Medical Information Officer, Rush University Medical Center; Eric Poon, MD, MPH, AVP, Chief Health Information Officer, Duke Health; David Classen, MD, MS, SI Board Member, Professor of Medicine, University of Utah Health, CMIO, Pascal Metrics; and Christy Harris Lemak, PhD, FACHE, EVP, Research and Learning, Scottsdale Institute. AI adoption is accelerating across SI Member health systems – but deployment does not always translate into meaningful value.

Join Scottsdale Institute for a first look at findings from its 2026 survey of member health systems, which tracks deployment and perceived success across 63 AI use cases and compares 35 of them with SI’s 2024 baseline. Forty of 67 invited systems participated, providing a timely view of how some of the nation’s largest health delivery organizations are moving AI from experimentation into everyday operations.

The findings reveal a market advancing at different speeds. Ambient documentation is approaching near-universal deployment among responding systems and is earning strong marks for success. Agentic AI is also more prevalent than many may expect, but its use remains concentrated in operational, administrative and patient-engagement work rather than clinical diagnosis or risk stratification. Other widely deployed applications—including readmission risk prediction—show a sizable gap between implementation and perceived value.

The research also points to a shift in what is holding organizations back: financial concerns now outrank technical and regulatory challenges as the leading barrier to scaling AI.

Because many SI members contributed to this research, the webinar offers more than a presentation of the results. It is an opportunity to see how your organization compares, hear how other leaders are defining success and discuss the governance, monitoring and evidence needed to scale AI safely—and determine which applications are truly worth the investment.
