CPOE Readiness in US Hospitals

David Classen, MD, VP, FCG, and advisor to Leapfrog Group, JCAHO, and the IOM, presents the results from his analysis of over 50 CPOE Readiness Assessments conducted over the last 2 years.  Success factors and enablers will be reviewed, including governance, organizational support structures, and staffing, the pros and cons of various implementation approaches, physician adoption and implications for clinical workflow, integration of clinical decision support, successful pilot unit strategies, and considerations for remote access.
