Cyber Security: Why Legacy Systems are Not Enough
November 12, 2015, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm CST
GEN (Ret) Keith Alexander, President and CEO, IronNet Cybersecurity, and former Director, National Security Agency. GEN (Ret) Alexander discusses the evolution of computers and networks, the challenges to network and cybersecurity, and the underlying challenges to civil liberty and privacy. This session details the growing threat in cyberspace, disruptive and destructive attacks, and explores why legacy systems are insufficient to counter today’s threats. Securing cyberspace through an advanced, holistic approach provides the necessary technical framework to significantly improve cybersecurity for any company, including a complete real-time situational awareness of the network, using advanced behavioral models to detect anomalous activity, big data analytics leveraging the most advanced computing techniques and capabilities, and near real-time threat information updated throughout a network and amongst networks in a common sector.
