Physician Office Infrastructure for Patient Safety, Quality Improvement, and Eliminating Preventable Readmissions
May 24, 2011, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm CDT
James L. Holly, MD, CEO of Southeast Texas Medical Associates, LLP (SETMA), a HIMSS Davies Award winner. A major, national health goal is to reduce preventable readmissions to the hospital, addressing patient safety, public cost, patient satisfaction and healthcare quality. Coupled with financial penalties to hospitals for readmissions, the urgency of dealing with this issue has increased. This session discusses physician office information technology innovations which make it possible to intelligently and effectively reduce readmissions. Dr. Holly demonstrates how a multi-specialty group practice can collaborate with hospitals to achieve clinical and financial benefits even in a fee-for-service environment.
