SUMMARY:WEBINAR | Building a More Efficient Digital Transformation
DESCRIPTION:Michael Black\, Managing Director\, and Sahithi Bayana\, Senior Manager\, Deloitte. Healthcare organizations often cite IT spend as a barrier to embarking on a Cloud transformation journey. However\, margin-improvement initiatives such as application rationalization and a refreshed operating model can self-fund major cloud transformations\, expediting the time to steady state and cost optimization. An organization’s self-funded transformation is a case study of the future on how Cloud can help an integrated health system improve its performance and IT spend\, provide better care\, and create an adaptable business model.

SUMMARY:WEBINAR | Unwinding the Federal Medicaid Continuous Coverage Requirements
DESCRIPTION:Kinda Serafi\, JD\, Partner\, Manatt. The current Medicaid continuous coverage requirement prohibits states from disenrolling individuals from Medicaid for the duration of the public health emergency (PHE) as a condition of accessing enhanced federal Medicaid funding. As these federal continuous coverage requirements come to an end\, state Medicaid agencies will undertake the massive task of redetermining eligibility for nearly every Medicaid enrolled person in the country\, over 90 million individuals.  This webinar reviews the federal requirements related to the continuous coverage requirements and discusses states’ priorities with respect to mitigating coverage loss.  The webinar also discusses the role other stakeholders—managed care plans\, providers\, and community-based organizations—can play in supporting states as we face the biggest coverage event since the passage of the Affordable Care Act.

SUMMARY:FIRESIDE CHAT / WEBINAR | Going Beyond CMS Interoperability: a SAFER EHR
DESCRIPTION:Peter Kleinschmidt\, MD\, Board Certified Clinical Informaticist\, Assistant Professor\, UW Health; Dean Sittig\, PhD\, Professor\, UTHealth School of Biomedical Informatics; Jorge Sanchez\, MD\, MPH\, Internal Medicine Specialist\, Mass General Brigham; and Arvind Kumar\, Managing Director\, Eisner Advisory Group LLC. The CMS SAFER Guides are a multi-disciplinary library of recommended practices focused on technology\, EHR configurations\, policies and practices that provides a framework to improve the safety of an EHR and advance the design and use of the EHR to maximize safety for both providers and patients.  Starting in calendar year 2022\, organizations that take part in the CMS Promoting Interoperability Program are required to perform an annual SAFER Guides assessment and attest to CMS of its completion. Join digital health leader Arvind Kumar (EisnerAmper)\, co-author of the CMS SAFER guides Dean Sittig\, and representatives from member organizations Dr. Peter Kleinschmidt (UW Health) and Dr. Jorge Sanchez (Mass General Brigham) to explore how a deep focus on the SAFER Guide concepts\, values and recommendations can advance operational and cultural safety competencies. “Going Beyond CMS Interoperability: a SAFER EHR” explores how a multidisciplinary and collaborative effort can meet the CMS attestation requirement and generate richer insights to EHR improvements that will accelerate patient safety improvements.

SUMMARY:WEBINAR | Leveraging Technology to Drive Both Nurse and Patient Satisfaction
DESCRIPTION:Sherri Hess\, MS-IS\, Vice President Chief Nursing Informatics Officer; and Whitney Staub-Juergens\, DNP-HSL\, MSN\, RN\, CCRN-K\, NE-BC\, Vice President of Clinical Operations\, HCA Healthcare. The innovative use of technology has the power to improve both patient and nurse satisfaction. HCA has embraced this opportunity by piloting a virtual nurse program\, encouraging the use of mobile technology\, and using AI-based nurse scheduling systems. Through the virtual nurse program\, bedside nurses receive supplemental assistance in completing indirect care tasks\, such as completing admission history and discharge teaching. Mobile technology facilitates real-time access to patient information directly at the point of care\, improving nurse efficiency with the review and documentation of care tasks. AI-based scheduling systems enable HCA to create flexible staffing models that balance the necessary mix of skills with nurses’ scheduling preferences. The resultant impact has been an improvement in time to discharge\, a decrease in nurse staff turnover\, greater nursing career flexibility\, and improved patient satisfaction stemming from enhanced patient-nurse interactions and communications. \nSponsored by Meditech

SUMMARY:WEBINAR | Bringing the Joy Back to Medicine Through AI And Automation
DESCRIPTION:Doug King\, SVP\, CIO\, Northwestern Medicine; and Stephanie Lahr\, MD\, CHCIO\, President of Artisight\, Former CIO and CMIO\, Monument Health. The healthcare industry is facing a combination of workforce challenges. The current rising rates of clinician burnout\, coupled with staffing shortages\, the increasing complexity of medical care\, and rising number of people that will need care necessitates a new approach. Northwestern Medicine is partnering with Artisight to leverage Automation and Artificial Intelligence to transform care delivery. Documentation and other administrative tasks can be reduced allowing clinicians to spend more time and focus on patient care\, workflows can be optimized by automating communication and information sharing\, and processes can be improved by collecting large volumes of high-fidelity data through use of sensor technologies as opposed to manual entry and observation. Doug and Dr. Lahr discuss the partnership\, strategy and technology making this transformation to reality.

SUMMARY:WEBINAR | The 5 Disciplines of Inclusive Hospitals: How Diverse and Equitable Healthcare Systems Will Transform People's Health
DESCRIPTION:Andrés Tapia\, Senior Client Partner\, Global DE&I Strategist; and Fayruz Kirtzman\, Senior Client Partner\, Korn Ferry. The obvious case for diversity\, equity\, and inclusion in healthcare systems is ensuring that your people – at every level of any background – feel respected\, valued\, and treated fairly. But it’s more than that…it’s also about transforming people’s health. In this webinar\, Andrés and Fayruz show how and why having a more diverse and inclusive hospital is able to save more lives\, improve healthcare outcomes\, improve efficiencies\, and have better financial results; and make the case for how maturing in the 5 disciplines of inclusive hospitals can benefit the entire healthcare system – from employee to patient to their families and communities. \nThe 5 Disciplines of Inclusive Organizations: How Diverse and Equitable Enterprises Will Transform the World
