DESCRIPTION:Jonathan James PhD\, Epidemiologist and Chief Strategy Officer\, Axis Medical Center\, presented with Wolters Kluwer\, Health.  Dr. James believes clinical teams serve patients\, rather than just treat them. More than 50% of Axis Medical Center’s patients live below the poverty line\, and more than 80% are best served by language other than English. Their stories have taught Dr. James that the first steps toward achieving health equity in his Minnesota community are letting go of preconceived notions and listening to patients.  As CFO of Axis Medical Center\, Dr. James and his team have put key measures in place to ensure their patients receive high quality care.
