SUMMARY:WEBINAR | Transforming Nursing: Strategies for Building a Sustainable Work Environment
DESCRIPTION:Kelsey Reed\, DNP\, FNP-C\, Director of Patient Care\, Phoebe Putney Health System. Creating a more sustainable working environment for nurses requires persistence and a direct and consistent alignment between leadership actions and nurses’ values. Phoebe Putney Health System has a successful record of exactly that type of ambitious change management\, including the ability to balance larger scale pursuits with more immediate adjustments. By dedicating the right resources to each opportunity\, they have been able to create a clear framework for the success of not only each individual project\, but also overall progress towards a greater vision of comprehensive burden reduction. Dr. Reed shares several strategic initiatives her organization undertook to begin to bring this vision to life. Among these\, she discusses how her organization took virtual nursing from concept to completion\, establishing a command center hub and growing the team to include 30 virtual nurses; enabling greater mobility for nurses to complete documentation real-time\, minimizing disruptions and increasing focus; and other efforts to optimize EHR functionality and improve nurse experience and satisfaction. \nSponsored by Meditech.

SUMMARY:FIRESIDE CHAT | What Can I Do? The Need for Humanistic Rebel Leadership: A Fireside Chat with Dr. Zeev Neuwirth and Christy Harris Lemak\, PhD
DESCRIPTION:The most common question asked of Dr. Zeev Neuwirth – physician executive\, podcast host\, and author – is “What Can I Do?” This question reveals the desperation felt by many in healthcare as the current system is unsustainable\, untenable\, and\, in many cases\, harmful. One answer to the question of ‘What can I do?’ may be the mindset with which we approach leadership. There are leaders out there exhibiting what Dr. Neuwirth has termed “Humanistic Rebel Leadership” or #HRL – leaders who are challenging the status quo and creating measurable\, impactful change with this different mindset. \nJoin us for a conversation with Dr. Neuwirth\, author of Beyond the Walls and host of the Creating a New Healthcare Podcast\, that explores the mindsets and behaviors that fuel humanistic rebel leadership. \nTo learn more about the #HRL\, visit www.zeevhealth.com/membership and listen to the Creating a New Healthcare podcast.

SUMMARY:WEBINAR | Saving Lives and Reducing Stress in the ICU at Houston Methodist: Predicting the future can help!
DESCRIPTION:Faisal Masud\, MD\, FCCP\, FCCM\, Houston Methodist Chair in Anesthesiology & Critical Care and Medical Director\, Center for Critical Care\, Houston Methodist Hospital presents the Cardiac Arrest Prediction Model (CAP-M)\, an Augmented Intelligence (AI) tool. \nAn in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) code blue affects nearly 290\,000 hospitalized patients each year in the United States and is associated with poor survival and a high risk of neurological disability among survivors. Survival rates for IHCA have plateaued in recent years\, with a mean survival rate of approximately 25%. That means 3 out of 4 will not make it. \nWhat if we could predict In-Hospital Cardiac Arrest (IHCA) in an ICU patient? That is the question the Houston Methodist team asked themselves when they started their journey in developing the Cardiac Arrest Prediction Model (CAP-M). Critical Care patients are the most monitored patients in hospitals so this represents an opportunity to utilize the information to save lives\, improve outcomes and even reduce stress in the ICUs. \nDr. Masud discusses their goals\, methodologies\, and the progress made in developing a model that promises to be a key Augmented Intelligence (AI) tool that will play an important role in keeping the promise of delivering world class critical care at Houston Methodist through innovative thinking.

SUMMARY:WEBINAR | Sentara Health’s Centralized Home Health Care Delivery Model
DESCRIPTION:As patient care moves more assertively into people’s homes\, the models of care are evolving clinically and operationally. Sherry Kesler\, Director of Home Health Services at Sentara Health shares how they developed a centralized case management practice to see more patients and support clinical staff working at top of their license. The new model addresses the inefficiencies in traditional care models that utilize clinical staff to perform non-clinical functions and require clinicians to case manage between visits. Also learn the role of technology supporting this new model of care. \nSponsored by Epic.
