Dr. Eric Alper is SVP, Chief Quality Officer / Chief Clinical Informatics Officer at UMass Memorial Health Care and Professor of Medicine at UMass Medical School.
In addition to his clinical work in Hospital Medicine for the last 25 years, Dr. Alper is a seasoned physician executive, having served as the primary physician champion for 2 large Epic implementations and having led many clinical/operational improvements in those hospitals. He is a strong advocate of the use of data and dashboards to facilitate improvement. He has served as the executive sponsor for UMass Memorial’s digital health strategy and has facilitated the implementation of a number of platforms to help achieve the organization’s goals. For example, he was the executive sponsor over the UMMH Hospital at Home program, which opened in August 2021.
Dr. Alper received his medical degree at UMass Medical School. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Clinical Informatics and is a Certified Physician Executive (CPE). He has numerous peer reviewed publications, and he has served as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Hospital Medicine.
