Eric is the Chief Digital Officer for Memorial Hermann. He joined the Memorial Hermann family in April of 2020, after spending 14 years at USAA in San Antonio. Serving in Chief Digital Officer role, Eric has responsibility for the overall digital and data strategies for the system. He focuses the systems’s digital strategy on building personalized patient engagement at scale, leveraging multiple yet integrated channels, with an eye toward encouraging patients to take a more active role in their health. He leads the organization’s data strategy with a focus on unlocking data and building intuitive, predictive insights to enhance the information available to patients and those delivering care in order to make timely informed decisions in the delivery of healthcare.
During his tenure at USAA, Eric held multiple leadership roles across technology and digital organizations. He served as the Chief Technology Officer as well as the organizations first Chief Data and Analytics Officer. While at USAA, Eric was able to bring a number of innovative solutions to production, including natural language capabilities within the voice response system, a first to market mobile-based virtual agent, real-time transcription within the contact center, and an enterprise data and insights marketplace. Eric’s roles at USAA culminated in leading the digital, data, design and innovation teams for the enterprise.
Prior to USAA, Eric lead consulting organizations and had the opportunity to serve as an Army Field Artillery Officer.
