Lya M. Stroupe, DNP, APRN, CPNP, NEA-BC, NPD-BC, is an innovative nurse leader, leading initiatives to advocate for the profession of nursing and those served.
Lya has led organizational initiatives that include a clinical program for professional excellence for direct care nurses, implementation of care plans, patient education, and a patient pain scale. Lya has received grants for her research in nursing safety, pediatrics, and the care for the veteran. She has been published in the Journal of Nursing Administration, Journal of Continuing Education in Nursing, Journal of Pediatric Nursing, and the Journal of Hospice & Palliative Nursing.
Dr. Stroupe currently serves as Chair on the Commission for Accreditation for the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Lya serves on the National Collaborative for Improving the Clinical Learning Environment (NCICLE) Pathways to Excellence Adaptation Work Group and is the Co-chair for Elsevier’s Clinical Solutions Patient Engagement Editorial Board. She also serves on several Colleges of Nursing and State Health Advisory Boards.Dr. Stroupe serves on faculty in the West Virginia University Schools of Nursing and Medicine.
Stroupe holds a BSN degree from West Virginia University and MSN and DNP degrees from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Stroupe also has a Doctorate in Piano Performance and enjoys collaborating with other musicians.
