Thomas Moran, MD, is Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Northwestern Palos Hospital. He has been serving the organization since 1995, when he joined the Medical Staff at Central DuPage Hospital as an attending emergency physician. He was named chair of the CDH Department of Emergency Medicine in 2009 and served in that capacity until he was promoted to CMIO of Cadence Health in 2012 and to VP and CMIE of NMHC in 2016. He is boarded in Emergency Medicine and Clinical Informatics.
As CMIE, Dr. Moran is responsible for helping the organization leverage technology to improve patient safety and quality of care. He leads strategic planning, adoption and optimization of the electronic health record in support of patient care delivery across the Northwestern Medicine system. Dr. Moran earned his BS in biology from Illinois Benedictine College, Lisle Il, and his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Chicago. He completed his residency at the University of Illinois Hospital, Chicago.
