Tricia Julian

As chief information officer for Baptist Health, Julian oversees the implementation of comprehensive IT strategy and systems in support of Baptist Health’s vision to lead in clinical excellence, compassionate care and growth. In this role, she partners with other Baptist Health senior executives to deliver on key strategic initiatives and leads a talented team of IT professionals who provide technology solutions to facilitate patient-centered care while advancing Baptist Health’s organizational goals.

Julian joined Baptist in 2011 as Ambulatory IT director, where she built an Ambulatory IT team and led the implementation of Allscripts practice management and electronic health record systems in employed physicians’ practices. In 2014, she was promoted to IT executive director, responsible for leading the Epic IT teams in the EHR implementation, which now operates in Baptist’s eight hospitals and in more than 300 ambulatory locations in Kentucky and Indiana, including employed physician practices and urgent care clinics.

Baptist Health’s transition to Epic’s full suite of acute and ambulatory products received Good Install recognition in 2017 and achieved 2018 Gold Star Level 9 distinction within one year of completing the implementation. Further, Baptist Health achieved HIMSS Most Wired status in 2018.

Prior to joining Baptist, Julian served as chief operating officer and as director of operations for The Corvallis Clinic in Corvallis, Oregon, from 2007 to 2011. She also has worked for the Welborn Clinic in Evansville, Indiana, and the Arnett Clinic in Lafayette, Indiana.

Julian earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and an MBA with healthcare specialization from Indiana Wesleyan University. She and her husband have three children. She is active in various ministries within her church community and enjoys running and tandem cycling.
