Nick Archer is the Vice President, Ventures Operations for AdventHealth, leading the process to design and build the infrastructure for the organization’s risk-based business. Previously Nick was the CEO of Project Fulcrum, an effort launched in the Spring of 2018 by AdventHealth to disrupt its legacy provider business model with consumer driven innovation. In this role he led a cross-functional team of leaders from brand experience, banking, retail, and healthcare to build new products and solutions.
He serves on the board of the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida, United Against Poverty, and AdventHealth’s partner in Kingston, Jamaican, Andrews Memorial Hospital. Nick earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Oakwood University and an MBA from the University of Florida’s Hough Graduate School of Business. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching his son’s basketball teams, cycling and CrossFit.

Jim has been active in the health care industry for over 30 years, most recently joining Trinity Health as their Innovation Consultant advancing innovation activities from idea to reality. Prior roles include VP of Innovation Design and Development at Healthways and a 20-year career at Mayo Clinic including clinical care delivery and administrative program oversight roles in organ transplantation and well-being product development.
Jim earned his Master of Science of Social Work degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, as well as his undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Social Work. Both as a social worker and a health care innovations leader, Jim has seen firsthand how helping people to access the right resources at the right time can have a life-changing ripple effect while advancing care delivery models during this transformational period in the healthcare industry.

Patrick Kaminski, Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer, has been with UT Health San Antonio since February 2016. As a member of the executive team, he is responsible for leading strategic planning, business development, and enterprise transformation at the regions only academic medical center, featuring an NCI-designated cancer center and the largest physician practice in south Texas. Prior to joining UT Health San Antonio, Patrick served more than 13 years in various roles within strategy and business development for healthcare and financial organizations, including Johnson & Johnson. Patrick Kaminski holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, and an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin.

Dan Bazuin joined Spectrum Health – a $6.9 billion not-for-profit, award-winning, integrated health care system based in West Michigan – in January of 2020 as the Director for Digital Health and Integration Services. In this role, he is responsible for consumer and patient-facing digital solutions with a focus on the digital front door and consumer self-service, along with supporting digital innovation.
Prior to joining Spectrum Health, Dan accrued 20 plus years of experience in the analytic and digital space leading digital transformation efforts in the health and wellness category within the CPG and direct selling industries. His experience included large scale ecommerce, IoT/smart products, wearables, consumer-generated data and agile transformation.
Dan earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Grand Valley State University.

Aaron Martin is the Executive Vice President and Chief Digital and Innovation Officer for Providence where he leads Digital, Marketing, and Ventures for Providence. Aaron is also Managing General Partner for Providence Ventures where he is responsible for early stage/venture technology and device investments for the $300M Providence Venture fund.
Aaron has more than 25 years of experience in product, ventures and technology, including leadership of the Amazon teams that transitioned traditional publishing from physical books to Kindle. He has experience as an executive/founder at two venture-backed startups and has held strategy positions at McKinsey & Company. He currently serves on the board of Wildflower Health, Avia, Xealth and Kyruus. He is also a board member of Presbyterian Healthcare Services in New Mexico. Aaron holds a BS in Economics and Music from Austin College and an MBA in finance and healthcare management from The Wharton School.

Dr. Kupferman is senior vice president of Clinical and Academic Network Development at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. In this role, he leads the development, management and growth of clinical oncology and research programs across MD Anderson Cancer Network®, inclusive of domestic and international partnerships.
He also is professor of Head and Neck Surgery with expertise in the surgical management of pediatric head and neck cancers and skull base tumors. An internationally recognized expert in head and neck oncology, Dr. Kupferman’s clinical practice focuses on upper aerodigestive tract cancers, melanoma, salivary gland and skull base tumors, as well as robotic surgery of the head and neck. He has dual appointments as professor of Neurosurgery at MD Anderson and adjunct professor of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.
He obtained his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and completed his residency in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He then completed a fellowship in advanced head and neck surgical oncology at MD Anderson and received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
Dr. Kupferman has published more than 125 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters, and his laboratory research on the mechanisms of metastasis has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, American Cancer Society, American Head and Neck Society, American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and numerous private foundations. He also is an esteemed physician and has been consistently recognized on Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors list.

The leadership philosophy of Loren B. Hamel, MD is centered on achieving the quality and performance results we are all called to produce as healthcare providers, balanced with providing heartfelt care for patients and team members.
Dr. Hamel serves as president of Spectrum Health Lakeland, based in southwest Michigan, and chief strategy officer at Spectrum Health. Prior to the two health systems integrating in 2018, he served as chief executive officer of Lakeland Health for nine years and held various other executive roles with the organization over the previous decade.
As CEO, Dr. Hamel successfully integrated into the Lakeland system the largest multispecialty medical practice in Berrien County; the former Community Hospital, Watervliet; and Hospice at Home, which resulted in the area’s only dedicated hospice residence. Organizational culture improvements are a hallmark of Dr. Hamel’s leadership. Through his “Bring Your Heart to Work” initiative, featured in Harvard Business Review, he shared his vision for connecting caregivers’ tasks to the heartfelt needs of those they serve. Under Dr. Hamel’s leadership, Lakeland launched a system-wide electronic health record and the organization became first in the state of Michigan, as well as in the region, to be certified at Stage 7 by HIMSS Analytics.
Dr. Hamel was a founding member of Affirmant Health Partners – the state’s largest clinically integrated network, composed of six of Michigan’s leading health systems, to deliver high-quality, cost-effective healthcare and improve the health of residents. He was named Chairman of Affirmant Health Partners in July of 2017. Dr. Hamel serves as past president and current board member for Michigan Health and Hospital Association Executive Committee. He is on the board for Southwest Michigan Economic Growth Alliance and co-chair of Michigan’s Great Southwest Leadership Council.
Dr. Hamel graduated with honors from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, before going on to the Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California. He also holds a master’s degree in health services administration degree from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. An experienced family physician, Dr. Hamel treated southwest Michigan residents for 23 years at University Medical Specialties in Berrien Springs.
