Peter Szolovits, PhD, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, MIT Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Associate Faculty Member, MIT Institute of Medical Engineering and Science and its Harvard/MIT Health Sciences and Technology Program, and Head of the Clinical Decision-Making Group within the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory; and John Glaser, PhD, Adjunct Professor in the Health Care Management Department of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an Instructor in the Division of Policy Translation and Leadership Development at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The popular and professional press are full of stories about the capabilities of ChatGPT. The artificial intelligence technology, which leverages a large, sophisticated language model, has exhibited some impressive abilities to generate responses to questions and analysis requests including passing Ivy League MBA exams and portions of medical licensing exams.
While exciting, there are many questions surrounding the technology. How does it really work? What are its limitations? How might it be applied in healthcare? Does it introduce ethical and clinical practice challenges?
Join us for a conversation with Dr. Szolovits and Dr. Glaser about the current status and future prospects of ChatGPT in healthcare.
