Professional Satisfaction and Practice Sustainability in the Era of COVID-19

Michael Tutty, PhD, MHAMichael Tutty, PhD, Group VP, Professional Satisfaction and Practice Sustainability, American Medical Association (AMA).  In the last three months there have been tremendous changes and challenges to the physician profession arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.  From those clinicians working on the frontlines to those struggling with reduced clinical workloads, healthcare is in turmoil.  Michael presents his view from the AMA on those issues facing the physician profession, including how to care for the workforce, the rise of telemedicine, and the sustainability of business operations.  He also discusses the challenges of determining the new normal in healthcare.  Michael shares a number of free resources from the AMA on these key issues with the overall approach to supporting physicians during the COVID-19 pandemic.
