Arash Naeim, MD, PhD, Chief Medical Officer for Clinical Research, Co-Director UCLA Center for SMART Health, and Alex Bui, PhD, Director of UCLA Medical & Imaging Informatics, Co-Director UCLA Center for SMART Health.  Data science and emerging innovative technology affords many possibilities for impacting patient care and healthcare operations to be more insightful, efficient, and effective. In this presentation, Drs. Naeim and Bui discuss several key areas where the application of data science or emerging technology can transform care. The UCLA Center for Systematic, Measurable, Actionable, Resilient, and Technology-driven (SMART) Health is a campus-wide collaborative that brings together UCLA’s experts to shape how digital and data-driven healthcare technologies will help to manage risk, reliability, resilience, uncertainty, and precision in future biomedical research and clinical care.
