WEBINAR | Industry Guardrails to Ensure the Responsible Use of AI in Healthcare

June 6, 2024, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm CDT

Eric D. Peterson, MD, MPH, Vice Provost & Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Research, Professor of Medicine, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center; and David Rhew, MD, Global Chief Medical Officer, Microsoft. A new consortium of healthcare leaders – many who are Scottsdale Institute member organizations – created the Trustworthy & Responsible AI Network (TRAIN), an international network to operationalize responsible AI principles that improve the quality, safety and trustworthiness of AI in health. As new uses continue to unfold and grow, the need for rigorous development and evaluation standards becomes even more important to ensure responsible applications of AI. Drs. Peterson and Rhew discuss technology-based approaches to operationalize responsible AI principles, including the safety, reliability and monitoring of AI algorithms, and the skillsets required to manage AI responsibly.
