Katie Dickens, MS, Vice President, Applications, and Meghan Cole, MPA, Vice President, Analytics & Program Management, Bronson Healthcare. In August 2018, Bronson IT introduced a new program called Career Pathways. The Career Pathways program provided a set of tools developed by Bronson to support the career development interests of talent development for IT department employees. Primarily focused on non-leader roles, the program also provides guidelines to assist staff in career development: sets up employees for long term career success by introducing tools and process for professional development; level sets expectations across the IT Department for related to technical skills & behaviors; provides employees an entry point to discuss career aspirations with leaders, mentors, & coaches; and empowers staff to create a relationship with a coach or mentor to identify strengths and weaknesses, as well as opportunities to learn and grow. As a result of this program the Bronson IT team has experienced less regrettable turnover and higher staff engagement. In addition to the tangible staff benefits, the program was also intended to grow talent from within, develop critical talent gaps across the team, and improve employee retention & engagement.
