In recent years, July and August have SI hosting a number of group- and individual calls with several dozen SI Advisors to determine our Members’ greatest priorities for the upcoming year. From these calls, we develop the SI Roadmap—the thought-leadership guide that shapes all of our topics, conversations, educational collateral and events with Member organizations. This include publications like Industry Inside Edge, CEO Viewpoint and Annual Executive Outlook as well as virtual and onsite events like Dialogues, Roundtables, Summits and the SI Annual Conference, each of which generate their own recordings and reports. Webinars—SI’s most frequent means of voicing thought leadership—cover issues that also dovetail with the Roadmap’s established overarching topics; that is, the three “Milestones” used to organize the coming year’s discussions.
Within these three Milestones are more detailed, related subtopics that afford greater drill-down on our Members’ most salient needs and pressing challenges. SI is unique in the industry for so purposefully coalescing topics of primary interest to its Members and adjusting them annually to make space for learning around ongoing challenges and new opportunities.
For 2022-2023, the following Roadmap document depicts Members’ top interests of Workforce (burnout, shortages, resilience, retention); Redesigning Care (places/processes, care teams, streamlined solutions); and Accountability (results, affordability, advocates, equity). SI’s previous 2021-2022 Milestones—Experience is Everything, Thinking Digital is Our Culture, and Organizational Models are Fluid—molded the outcome of nearly 50 Summits, Roundtables and Dialogues, plus over 100 Webinars in 2021-2022. As such, this innovative and successful model will continue to guide our efforts to support, strengthen and empower our Members’ work on every level—from CIO, CTO and CISO professionals, to analytics and digital innovation, to Social Determinants of Health and Clinical Informatics, and to IT business operations and telehealth.
SI Advisors
The SI Advisors are the eyes, ears and heart of what makes SI a small-but-mighty organization dedicated to sharing best practices and thought leadership content through education, collaboration and networking. Each July we convene the SI Advisors to gather their thoughts on top strategic, technical and operational concerns faced by today’s progressive, integrated health systems. We also communicate informally with SI Advisors throughout the year to keep our finger on the pulse of industry thought leadership. Our conversations with SI Advisors inform the design of the SI Roadmap for the coming year, in terms of our Webinars and Fireside Chats schedule; Affinity Group Dialogues, Roundtables and Summits; and our Annual Conference agenda. Most importantly, Advisor input helps architect a vision of the emerging Health System of the Future.
ADVISORS
Thought Leaders, Giving Back
In 2022, SI announced the development of a new Executives in Residence program—a cadre of C-suite-level executives with strong ties to SI who are looking to start a new professional chapter and find additional ways to “give back” to the industry by assisting with SI’s thought leadership initiatives in new ways.
SI Executives in Residence bring deep professional experiences, breadth of knowledge, industry relationships and keen interest and passion to support SI’s work. They are excellent communicators, facilitators, innovative thinkers and natural engagers, and promise to provide forward momentum and lasting benefit for SI, its Members and the healthcare system at large.
Potential Executive in Residence projects may include:
- Helping plan SI’s Annual Conference and/or developing Conference components
- Serving as subject matter experts in co-leading targeted Strategic Partnership Initiatives and subsequent Collaboratives
- Supporting SI’s strategic development and goals (e.g., growth strategies, industry partnerships, etc.)
- Contributing thought leadership by identifying, leading and/or moderating specific events [e.g., Webinars, Roundtables, Summits, etc.)
- Researching and educating SI staff and others on key subjects
- Providing adjunct support for and with Sponsors and/or Members, as requested
